Looking for a Used Forklift? We Can Help
There are a lot of situations where a used forklift makes good financial sense. It will save you a lot of money, and you’ll have a forklift that will still deliver consistent performance for years to come. We carry quite a few used forklifts, and we always put them through a detailed inspection before we let one off of our property. We do this because we want our customers to be 100 percent satisfied.
Every used forklift we carry is just as capable of performing the most demanding tasks as new models. We’ll always provide you with reliable service, and you’ll only pay a fraction of what it would cost for a new one.
A Quick Look at Different Classes of Forklifts
If you haven’t purchased a forklift before, it’s important that you know there are many different kinds. In fact, there are seven types of forklifted. Here’s a brief look at each.
- Class I – This is a very quiet forklift, one that runs on electricity, not gasoline or liquid propane. It’s perfect for a warehouse setting, one where you don’t want your employees to have to breathe in fumes. Class I forklifts are also perfect for tasks such as loading and unloading tractor-trailers, or handling pallets.
- Class II – This type of forklift works great in tight, narrow spaces. It can lift inventory to greater heights than most other types can reach.
- Class III – One example of a Class III forklift is a stand-up forklift. Others include walk-behind forklifts and rider pallet jacks. These are great for unloading inventory and moving it to a staging area.
- Class IV – These are designed for use on smooth surfaces, since they have cushion tires. They’re also excellent for areas with low clearances, since they ride lower to the ground. If you need to transfer pallets from a storage area to your loading dock, this type of forklift will definitely be worth considering.
- Class V – Like Class IV forklifts, Class V models feature an internal combustion engine. The big difference is that they don’t use cushion tires – rather, they use pneumatic tires instead. While you can use them indoors, they’re designed for use outside. They run on compressed natural gas, diesel, LP or gasoline.
- Class VI – This is a hybrid model, one that runs on a combination of electric and fuel. You can use them either inside or outside, and they’re also great for towing heavy loads.
- Class VII – A Class VII forklift is built for rugged terrain, and features tires that are similar to those found on tractors. Lumberyards and construction sites are just two of the areas where these forklifts are used on a regular basis.
